About Me
I’m a Civil Engineering Student with very hands-on training and experience in many disciplines of construction field and office work.
(2026 - Present)
Work Experience
Terracon
Fort Collins, Colorado
(2021 - 2024)
Hoff
Construction
Loveland, Colorado
As an intern with Terracon I learned the fundamentals of being a materials technician – including some basics like concrete testing, soil densities and proctor preparation. I also learned more in-depth tasks like drilled pier observation and moisture reading in existing concrete slabs. Maintaining high level organization and time management were the keys to excelling in this position. Recording data, preparing testing set-up and always being aware of potential hazards helped me to make the safest and most effective on-site work environment possible.
Hoff Construction is a commercial and residential contracting company specializing in concrete projects. I began working for the company in the summer following my junior year of high school. I started working as a laborer. I gained skills as I advanced, including learning to set concrete forms and construct rebar cages. I was taught a lot about the disciplines necessary to work in the field and in the office.
Through gaining skills and experience, I was able to advance to construction management projects. This included using software to price and bid projects. It also offered the chance for me to communicate directly with clients and vendors. Over four years, I gained a lot of hands-on experience in construction and civil engineering projects. I learned how things work from the ground up.
KEY PROJECT:
Subaru Of Loveland
This was the first project where I began developing the skills to be an effective concrete laborer. I was exposed to things such as earthwork, like trenches, compacting soil and adding moisture in order to meet density requirements. I also learned to form walls for structures and foundations and how best to place concrete for those applications.
Education
(2023 to Present)
Colorado State
University
Civil Engineering Major
Colorado State University is one of the top civil engineering schools in the country. My family has a long history with the University, both as students and educators. I’m proud to be a fourth-generation Ram. I will complete my bachelor's degree in spring, 2027.
(2022 – 2023)
Front Range Community College
Construction Management Major
I attended Front Range Community College in construction management. But I learned that a civil engineering degree would still allow me to work construction management if I chose to pursue that career, so I decided to transfer to CSU where I was directly admitted to the engineering college.
